The government has recently issued a directive requiring local planning authorities to have sites with five years worth of housing supply with planning permission.

There is currently a shortfall in the Chichester District and the Council is under pressure to approve applications on land not allocated for housing - whether or not the houses will be built given the state of the housing market!
