Parklands faces closure of its Post Office

The Post Office has announced which Post Offices it intends to downgrade or close in the Chichester area.

Perhaps the biggest surprise is its intention to close the Post Office at The Ridgeway in Parklands in the City of Chichester. Other Post Offices serving the northern, eastern and southern suburbs of Chichester are to be retained. At least two of these have fewer customers than the Post Office at The Ridgeway which is convenient for residents in Fishbourne and the East Broyle too.

The Post Office needs to give a better explanation than that already offered to justify the closure of this particular Post Office.

Across the whole Chichester area Post Offices in West Wittering, East Street in Chichester, Easebourne are due to close with those in Plaistow, Compton, West Dean, Graffham and Redford set to switch to an outreach service.

Looking to the future it is clear that the message is "Use it or Lose it".
